Ketamine, aka " Special K" is a powerful hallucinogen originally developed as
an anesthetic for human and veterinary use. This legitimately manufactured
product is now commonly abused at teen "raves".
What does it do to your body/mind?
Similar to the effects of cocaine or
PCP, Ketamine can cause the user to experience a
loss of sense of time, and sense of identity. These effects can last anywhere
from 30 minutes to two hours.
Mentally, Ketamine can cause:
- impaired attention, learning ability, and memory
- anxiety and feelings of violence
- a lost sense if time and identity
- depression / suicidal feelings
- delirium
- heavy hallucinations
- recurrent flashbacks
Physically, Ketamine can cause:
- impaired motor function
- high blood pressure
- vomiting (when it's mixed with alcohol)
- convulsions
- potentially fatal respiratory problems
IS IT ADDICTIVE?
With repeated daily exposure, Ketamine users can develop tolerance and
psychological dependence.
