WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT... LSD
LSD (acid), is the most common hallucinogen. Hallucinogens can act like uppers or downers,
but mostly they distort our perception of the world.
What does it do to your mind/body?
LSD is odorless, colorless, and has a slightly bitter taste. LSD is a
potent
mood altering chemical that's manufactured illegally in 'home' laboratories.
LSD users can experience:
- Dramatic changes in feelings and senses
- Distorted sense of time
- Visual hallucinations
- Impaired judgment
- Rapid mood swings
- Flashbacks (re-experiencing bad parts of the drug trip).*
- Panic attacks which could lead to attempted suicide
Flashbacks can be very disturbing and can occur days, weeks, or even years after users have had their last dose of LSD.
IS IT ADDICTIVE?
No. LSD is not physically addictive. But the psychological effects of LSD are totally unpredictable because so many parts
of the brain are affected. Users put themselves at great risk for permanent mental illness.
