Videographer

What do
videographers do?

Videographers document a story, through moving image and sound. They require a keen eye and a sense of what is going on around them to capture the story as it is happening, often mentally editing as they shoot. Being in the right place at the right time and knowing where the 'real' story can be found, is the key to a successful and compelling finished product on videotape.
Some (but not all) of Wayne's responsibilities include:
  • Determining and procuring the necessary equipment and supplies for the trip.
  • Establishing a location for the set up of equipment.
  • Maintaining on-going video coverage of the Everest expedition from arrival at Kathmandu, through the trek to Base Camp and the climb on the mountain.
  • Coordinating with the Team Leader and the Base Camp Manager concerning the needs of the team and the documentation of the expedition.
  • Coordinating with the Communication Satellite Consultant as it relates to sending streaming video to the Internet for viewing at STEPonline.com.
