reached the summit of Mount Everest on May
24, 2001 at 6:49 a.m. At 29,035 feet, Everest is the highest point on Earth and the ultimate challenge for any high altitude climber.
Students from across North America logged in every day and followed
the Expedition's progress from its landing in Kathmandu to its trek through Nepalese mountain villages, to Everest Base Camp and then finally,
they were able to Cyber-connect with the team up to the top of the world.
